• Duration: The direct drive between Padangbai and Amed takes roughly 1.5 hours along the quiet East Bali coastal road — no South Bali traffic at all. Distance is about 45 km.
• Coming off a boat: Padangbai is the harbour for fast boats to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, Lombok (Bangsal & Senggigi) and the public ferry, plus some Nusa Penida services. Boats regularly run late, so tell us your operator and scheduled arrival and your driver waits at the harbour gate with a signboard showing your name — no extra charge for normal boat delays.
• Catching a boat from Amed: We recommend leaving Amed at least 2.5 hours before your departure time. That covers the drive, the walk through the harbour car park and check-in with your boat company, which usually closes 30-45 minutes before departure.
• Luggage and dive gear: Divers heading to Tulamben or the USAT Liberty wreck often travel with heavy bags. Choose the Innova Reborn if you have more than three large items or dive equipment.
