How to Get to Amed, Bali: A Complete Local Transport Guide
Amed is a string of coastal villages in East Bali rather than one compact town. There is no railway to Amed, so most visitors arrive by road after landing at Bali Airport, leaving another Bali hotel, or arriving by fast boat at Padangbai or Sanur.

Arriving from Bali Airport
For an international arrival, complete the free All Indonesia declaration before travelling and save its QR code. After landing, allow time for immigration, baggage collection and customs before meeting the driver. Arriving from Ubud or South Bali
The drive from Ubud crosses East Bali and is shorter than the journey from the southern beach areas. Door-to-door pickup is useful because villas around Ubud and Canggu can be far from shuttle meeting points. Coming from the Gili Islands or Lombok

Know which part of Amed your hotel is in
Amed accommodation stretches through villages including Amed, Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah and Aas. Send the exact hotel name or map pin when booking. This avoids confusion between “Amed” as the wider coastal area and Amed village itself.
Travelling with luggage or children
Tell the driver the number of passengers and large bags before confirming. The published fleet information lists the Avanza or similar for up to four guests with two to three standard bags, and the Innova Reborn for up to five guests with four to five standard bags.
