Are Grab and Gojek Available in Amed? A Local Transport Guide

App-based transport may appear available at some times and locations, but coverage and driver acceptance can be inconsistent along the Amed coast. For a timed pickup, luggage, families or an onward connection, arranging a local driver in advance is usually more predictable.

Amed is a long coastal area

Amed is commonly used for a chain of villages including Amed, Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah and Aas. A place that looks nearby on a map can still require a vehicle, especially in the heat, after dark or with dive equipment.

Using Grab or Gojek

App availability can change by time, exact village and whether a driver accepts the request. Check the app for the live situation, but do not rely on an unconfirmed request for an airport connection, fast-boat departure or other fixed appointment.

A scooter offers independence for experienced and appropriately licensed riders. Consider helmet quality, insurance requirements, road conditions, rain, night visibility and whether you need to carry luggage. A scooter that suits a short daytime ride may not suit a cross-island trip.

Send the hotel or restaurant name, map pin, pickup time, destination, guest count and luggage. “Pickup in Amed” is not always precise enough because the coastline covers several villages.

Leaving Amed for another Bali area

For Ubud, the airport, Sanur, Canggu or another distant destination, use a dedicated private transfer route and price rather than a short local ride.
